Code Enforcement is responsible for ensuring that the city codes for building standards and land usage are being followed. Besides inspection and investigation of properties and buildings, the Department determines environmental or health hazards, nuisance violations and unsafe building conditions. Permits or citations are issued in accordance with the regulations of the city.
The Code Enforcement Department's mission is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public by ensuring that city, state and federal regulations on land usage, zoning, business permits and building access are being met.
